A Vintage Obsession was created by its founder Verity Mason out of a love for beautiful and unique vintage clothing and accessories.  After completing a degree in fashion Verity began a career working for some of the biggest names on the high street, but fast fashion was not where the heart lay, and she focused her energies into planning a new vision for vintage retail.

For years she happily rummaged through markets, shops, stall, rails, whilst many friends and colleagues were put off vintage shopping for exactly that reason, riffling through the fusty jumpers and long forgotten trends from way back when is not everyone’s idea of fun! Verity wanted to make vintage accessible to everyone, knowing the joy there is in wearing an original 60s shift or 80s cocktail dress, the provenance in a 1950s prom gown, or simply putting your own unique vintage spin on this years trends, knowing no one else will be working it like you.

And so began a long journey, collecting stock from all over the globe, from New York to Bordeaux, and all around the UK, day dresses, eveningwear, coats, hats, bags, shoes, jewellery, from the 1940s to the 1980s, every piece was and still is picked by hand.

A Vintage Obsession’s boutique in Nottingham's Hockley district, renown for its independent retailers and vintage vibe, was opened in April 2011, where each carefully selected piece is freshly laundered and presented beautifully amongst the eclectic fixtures and fittings.  Each purchase is wrapped like a gift, so even getting it home and un-wrapping it is a thrill.

Since opening A Vintage Obsession has attracted much attention from the press, and the team works along side celebrity stylists for TV shows such as the X factor, professional models, photographers, and cultural centres who exhibit the iconic and the rare.

The focus is on finding quality vintage ladies and menswear, A Vintage Obsession specialise in designer finds including Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, plus British heritage brands Belstaff, Burberry, Barbour, and Aquascutum.
